Welcome Letter
Dear Candidate
Thank you for expressing an interest in becoming the Earls Court Programme Manager within the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham’s recently formed Housing and Regeneration Department.
The Housing and Regeneration department was formed in April 2011 when the ALMO was brought back into the council and combined with strategic housing, regeneration, economic development and adult learning and skills. We must focus very clearly on what matters most to our communities, what really makes a difference for them and a crucial part of that focus is our desire to bring new jobs and homes to the area.
Hammersmith and Fulham is a Borough of Opportunity and our regeneration work has a high profile nationally and we benefit from an unprecedented three London Plan Opportunity Areas at Earls Court, White City and Old Oak, more than any other London borough. These Opportunity Areas will attract billions of pounds of investment to the borough over the next few years, bringing significant new housing and job opportunities.
Your role will be to drive one of the most ambitious regeneration programmes in the country. It is hard to imagine many other opportunities in this current climate that will provide the same degree of professional challenge and potential reward as Earls Court.
We require an individual with a proven track record in successfully delivering regeneration projects by utilising first class programme and project management abilities. Someone who will give confidence that they can ensure effective stakeholder engagement, consultation and communication to succeed, not only in terms of time, cost and quality, but also to ensure that the social and economic regeneration benefits are maximised.
We have a challenging and rewarding period ahead and we are looking for people with vision, experience, outstanding leadership qualities and drive to work with us to deliver on this exciting agenda. We hope you find the information on this site useful, and it gives you a flavour of what we are doing at Hammersmith and Fulham. If you want to discuss anything in more detail, please don’t hesitate to contact our advising consultants at GatenbySanderson. If you do apply, then we hope to meet you in due course.
Yours sincerely,
Yours sincerely,

Councillor Andrew Johnson Melbourne Barrett
Cabinet Member for Housing Executive Director of Housing and Regeneration
